Laurel Road
Studios

Chelsea,
New York

We started Laurel Road for our friends.

Our goal in 1994 was to make high-end recording equipment and instruments available to the working musicians, poets, and artists around us. Today, we are a fully-operational, independent recording studio, and we’re excited to work with you on your next project.

Come record on our 8-track tape machine or 24-input analog recording console, live-tracking drums, bass guitar, Wurlitzer, and vocals at once. Record your jazz-poetry album with our upright bass. Produce a house record with our Roland R8 and our E-mu Systems EMAX II 16-bit Digital Audio System, with 43 floppy disks of sound.

We’ve done a lot of different types of projects in here ourselves, and we’re ready to work to make sure you get what you want out of our space.

The studio features a wide array of modern and vintage equipment, including a Hammond RT3 organ with a Leslie Speaker, a Wurlitzer 120, a 1959 Fender Bass, a pedal steel guitar, and dozens of rare Brazilian percussion instruments. The studio proper has a footprint of roughly 700 square feet, featuring a main room, control room, and a vocal / amp isolation booth. In addition to recording capabilities, we offer engineering, mixing and mastering services. We also offer session players for drums, bass, and keyboards.

We are flexible in terms of pricing depending on your circumstances. Please reach out for more information, and we will find a way to accommodate you.
