INSIDE THE STUDIO . . .
Our main recording space is ~600 square feet, divided into a control room, a live room, and an isolation booth. Constructed with acoustics in mind, the angles of each room are slightly obstuse or acute to avoid reflections and the entire recording space has a ‘floating floor’ design which minimizes interference and transmission loss. The studio is equipped with heat, AC, and an air purifying system.
The Live Room. Designed for versatility. The live room has been acoustically treated with sound panels and a cloud, and the ‘deadness’ of the room can be further customized based on the positioning our gobos. Perfect for a full-band set up, dialing in your ideal drum sound, or recording ‘roomy’ vocals.
The Isolation Booth. Our ‘super dead’ room. Constructed with 4-inches of Owens Corning 703 and hemp insulation wall-to-wall, curtains to cover window reflections, and ceiling treatment, the room provides an extremely dampened environment fo recording vocals, guitar, or drums.
The Control Room. The control room is connected to the isolation booth and the live room via tie lines and two 96 point patchbays, and it is where we keep our soundcraft analog mixing console, various signal processing gear, Otari 8 channel tape machine, Yamaha monitors, and Motu interface. Our Mac Studio is outfitted with Pro Tools and Logic. We can plug your personal computer into our system via USB-C.
THE OUTER BASEMENT . . .
We work out of a large industrial basement. This space, exterior to our studio, is untreated and creates obvious reflection. Occasionally artists use this space to record, taking advantage of the opportunity for sonic contrast.
